On a testé 6 activités pour faire patienter les enfants jusqu’à Noël

We tested 6 activities to keep children waiting until Christmas

When you prepare for Christmas with children, you don't have to turn your head upside down to come up with the most extraordinary ideas. Christmas time is above all family time . Time to share , to create , to enjoy . So that you can start this month of December in a relaxed mood, here are some ideas to activate in joy, one of the most beautiful times of the year!

1 - We no longer present the advent calendar to you

And even less those that we reuse every year 😉

Filled with “vouchers for…”, little words of love or even their favorite chocolates, discovering each of the boxes becomes a playful ritual. Like a countdown , it teaches the older ones to be patient as well as the younger ones how to count!

Psssst: no missed effect with a reusable advent calendar! Rediscovering them from one year to the next offers the same level of joy and fits (we guarantee it) in the happy childhood memories of our toddlers.

2 - Decorate the house and the tree:

Hanging the socks over the fireplace, hanging the garland at the front door, adorning the tree with colorful decorations with the wonderful voice of Franck Sinatra playing in the background … The children are intertwined with a touching excitement and caught up in a whirlwind of emotions , moments certainly charged but oh so enchanted!

    3 - Prepare shortbread:

Stars, snowflakes, fir trees or men, take cookie cutters

and embark on a recipe that will have you crunching with delight in the spirit of the holidays!

    List of ingredients :
    250 g of flour (T55 or T65)
125 g powdered cane sugar / option 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
    1 pinch of salt
    125g butter
    1 egg

    Implementation steps :

    1. Sift flour. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar(s) and salt. Add the cold butter cut into small pieces and work the preparation until a fine powder is obtained. Add the egg. Mix until the dough is homogeneous and form a ball. Wrap in cling film and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
    2. Heat the oven to 160°
    3. Roll out the dough, then cut out different shapes using cookie cutters. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cook for about 15 minutes, as soon as the edges begin to brown, get ready, the cooking is finished.

    4 - Christmas movies:

A hot chocolate, a good plaid, a plate of shortbread and presto! Glued tight, we melt into the sofa. The Christmas period is also about watching cartoons , or seeing those films that year after year we still love to watch.

Level choice there is something for all ages …
Because we like to rediscover our inner child, our favorites to see from the age of 4 are: The Grinch, Klaus, Santa's mouse, Julius and Santa Claus ... Tales, cartoons, films of animation… they gently take us back to our childhood.

For the older ones, the series of “Mom, I missed the plane” or even “Santa & co” will make you laugh as much as inevitably soften you.
And for those who can't imagine the holiday spirit without a session of Love Actually or The Holiday, let loose in December, anything goes.

5 - Table decoration: compose the support of your menu and your crackers:

A bit of fancy tape, colored card stock, cutting tools and that's it! No need more to be sufficiently equipped to place (with pride) these menus and crackers that you will have made on your holiday table.

Watch our DIYs to inspire you and prepare them with your children before receiving your family at home. They are also a nice touch to relieve the mistress of the house if you wake up elsewhere.
In both cases, don't do it the day before, nothing beats being organized in this period that we love but which inevitably remains (slightly) busy.

6 - The best for last: a bath and My whipped cream!

To end this weekend in style, which will have filled you, we make the toddlers enjoy a bath with My whipped cream ! Like a "sine qua non" condition for prolonging bubbling, My washing cream has (very) many advantages: we cite, among many others, its creamy, melting and totally delicious texture which has the talent to take care of the head to toe of our dear children.

In this regard, it seems that it is one of the beauty secrets of Santa's sparkling beard … here is a great story for them to try 😉
